PSG Marine & Logistics carried out the installation of five double-skinned fuel storage tanks at the Wefco site in Westhill, Aberdeen. Each tank weighed between 15 Te and 17.3 Te. The work required precise crane lifting and accurate placement within the construction area. The operation was performed under contract lift conditions. The planning and execution followed the agreed lift plan throughout.

PSG utilised the Liebherr LTM 1160 mobile crane for the lifting operation.
The crane was selected to match the load range of the tanks. The configuration supported safe lifting and placement within the defined working area.
PSG’s contract lift team managed the operation on site. The lift plan was followed, and all lifting activity was carried out in accordance with the client’s requirements.
The team installed each tank in sequence. The lift plan governed crane positioning and load handling throughout the operation.
The ground personnel coordinated closely with the crane operator during each lift. The tank positioning was carried out precisely in line with the agreed method.
The weather conditions and programme demands remained factors throughout January. The lifting works progressed safely and professionally on site.

All five double-skinned fuel storage tanks were installed safely and within the required timeframe. The lifting operation concluded with full adherence to the lift plan and contract lift controls. The client’s programme objectives were achieved without incident.
